Jen & Jes

In Concert

A love offering will be taken

Dear Church Family,

Grace and peace to you through Jesus Christ, the only source of hope for the world! I was reading yesterday that people are seeking where to find hope. The alarming thing was that many of the ones interviewed stated that they had to visit several churches before they found one that expressed a sense of hope! The testimony of the church is obviously seen in where our hope lies. If we do not put our complete trust in Jesus Christ and have as our hope, faith in Him and His ability to carry us through any and every circumstance that this life can present then we will not have anything to offer those who are seeking hope for their lives. I encourage you today that if this world is weighing you down and you find yourself feeling discouraged and maybe even a little hopeless lift up your eyes unto the Lord and know that He is with you and can carry your burden. Pour your heart out to Him and His Spirit will lift you up, put a new song in your heart and renew your hope that you might be a testimony for Him to those who need to see that there is hope found in Jesus Christ. Surely, our “hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness!”
Finding my hope in Him,
Bro. David
P.S. I implore you to take the opportunity that is offered through our Sunday School classes, our Discipleship Training classes that will be starting in September, and the marriage class that will be offered on Wednesday evenings to be encouraged and equipped to walk faithfully.

Operation Christmas Child

There is a table set up in the foyer of the worship center for details and instructions. It is also the drop-off point for boxes you put together and for any items you wish to donate. If you have any questions, contact Kay Pace at 392-4487 or Lora Klein at 392-4873.

In August we are collecting school supplies: small pads of paper, pens, colored pencils, pencil sharpeners, markers, crayons, scissors, glue sticks (no liquid glue), small solar calculators, etc. We have a lot of pencils left over from last year, so we don’t need pencils. All items have to be new.

FOLLOW A BOX
If you would like to sponsor a box to discover the destination of a shoe box, go online to www.samartianspurse.org. Make at least a $7.00 donation per box to cover shipping using a credit or debit card. You will receive an EZ Give label included in your e-mail receipt. Print the label and bring it to the church office. We will put it on the outside of a box that has already been filled with gifts and supplies. This will enable OCC to track the gift. You will receive an e-mail telling you the destination of the box. If you would want to sponsor several boxes, print the original label as many times as you need.
